Cheeseburgers in an Air Fryer
Air fryer cheeseburgers are not only possible, but they are pretty darn good too. I know it sounds a little strange, but making cheeseburgers in an air fryer is actually quite easy and convenient. Serve them alongside some Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries and you will have a complete and delicious meal all from one small kitchen appliance!

Making Air Fryer Burgers
With air fryers, keep in mind how you load up the ingredients makes all the difference in the world. As long as you can get nice hot air blowing around the ingredients, everything cooks evenly. So the number of burgers you can make depends on the size of your air fryer.
We kept with classic cheddar on these easy burgers, but feel free to switch it up and add some Havarti, Bleu Cheese or any other cheese you love on your burgers.

The Benefits Of Cooking Burgers In An Air Fryer
Cooking with an air fryer is actually a great way to cook cheeseburgers. While the grill might give you the grill marks, it can also easily dry out your burgers if you aren’t paying close attention. Not to mention, that involves preheating and going outside.
With an air fryer, it is much easier to keep the juiciness of the burger, while still getting a nice sear on the exterior. The temperature in an air fryer is very easy to control compared to a grill. So getting the perfect level of doneness comes just a bit easier with the air fryer.
Draining the excess fats offers a health advantage over other burger cooking methods like pan frying. Then, the ease of cleaning an air fryer always makes a big difference too!
The possibilities are endless when it comes to cooking a meal in your Air Fryer. From an air fryer sandwich melt to air fryer chicken strips, you can have lunch on the table in no time!

What Sized Burgers Work Best In Air Fryers?
Since cooking air fryer cheeseburgers always depends partly on the portion size, shaping the burgers is crucial to consistent patties. I recommend making the burgers only about 1/2 an inch thick.
Can you do big fat and thick burgers in an air fryer? Sure. But the 1/2″ inch burgers I think work best for a few reasons.
The burgers cook within minutes. Searing the outside quickly but keeping them nice and juicy on the inside is a cinch. You don’t have to worry about breaking the burgers flipping them either. The virtue of cooking with hot air convection means all sides are cooking evenly. No flipping is actually necessary.
